Faculty-Librarian Shared Responsibilities
Tutorials & Other Resources
There are several online tutorials that are helpful in teaching information literacy skills.
1. TILT (Texas Information Literacy Tutorial)
The goals of this tutorial comprised of three modules are identification of various types and
formats of information resources, location of these resources to meet an information need,
development of search techniques, and proper evaluation of the information found.
This tutorial can be accessed at TILT.
2. Information literacy course on Blackboard
These two modules were created to help the faculty with integrating information literacy
skills into their classes and to help the students become familiar with the libraries of
Delaware Tech. They show how to select, use and evaluate resources, databases and services
offered by the College libraries.
3. Copyright Tutorial
The University of Texas created a crash course on copyright. It focuses on how ownership of
copyrighted material works, fair use, and when and how to get permission to use someone else's
materials. There is also a test that students can take at the end of the tutorial.
This tutorial can be accessed at
University of Texas Copyright Tutorial.
4. Plagiarism 101
The State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany created a short tutorial that discusses
what plagiarism is and how to avoid it. There are also links to other useful web sites
that contain information on plagiarism.
This tutorial can be accessed at
Albany Library Pagiarism 101.
5. How To Cite
