Welcome to the Stanton/Wilmington Campus Libraries

Stanton and Wilmington are two of the four campus locations of Delaware Tech. They are both located in New Castle County, Delaware,  just a few miles apart. Each library has a collection that supports the technologies taught at that site. The combined holdings of Stanton and Wilmington include over 67,000 books, over 8,000 audiovisual items, and more than 700 periodicals. The collections of all four Delaware Tech campus libraries are listed online in the Delaware Library Catalog. Online databases are provided as well. Librarians and staff are available to assist patrons in using these and other library resources.

Green bulletResources & Services

A Reference Librarian is available to advise and assist you during hours of operation. Library computers provide access to resources which support the academic and educational programs of the campus. These include: Delaware Library Catalog, online databases/periodical indexes, MyDTCC, Blackboard and e-mail programs. Word processing and spreadsheet programs are also available.  All library computer resources are accessible to students, faculty and staff using their college username/password. Other patrons may ask the librarian to log them in using a guest account. Group study rooms, copy machines, microfilm reader/printers, VCRs, DVD, audio cassette and CD players are some of our other amenities.

Green bulletDelaware Library Catalog

The college participates in the Delaware Library Catalog. This combined online library catalog lists items not only for all four Delaware Tech campus libraries, but also for many public and other academic libraries in the state. Catalog records for books, periodical titles, audiovisual materials, etc. may be searched by keyword, title, author, subject and more. Delaware Tech libraries use Library of Congress subject headings and call numbers.

Green bullet Online Databases/Periodical Indexes

Library patrons have access to a variety of indexes, both print and online, which support the academic programs offered by the campus. The purpose of indexes/databases is to list by subject articles in journals, magazines or newspapers. In some databases the full text of the articles are available online and may be printed at 10 cents per page. In other databases/indexes only a citation or abstract is provided. The magazines or journals may be available on the library's shelves. Check for these titles in the print Periodical Holdings List or in the  Delaware Library Catalog. While these periodicals may not leave the library, articles may be photocopied for 10 cents per page. Interlibrary loan service is available for magazines or journals not owned by the libraries. Requests may be placed in person or online.

Green bulletInter/Intralibrary Loan

Patrons can place an online request for any regularly circulating item in the Delaware Library Catalog. To do so, one must have a library barcode number and PIN. This is separate from the college MyDTCC username and password. Please contact your campus library for more information.  The library also provides interlibrary loan of items not listed in the Delaware Library Catalog. These requests may placed in person or online. Lending policies are dictated by the lending library and the materials are dated accordingly with overdue stipulations noted. Borrowers are urged to plan for the fact that it may take several days to obtain materials.

Green bulletLibrary Instruction Program

The libraries use an online information literacy program consisting of TILT (Texas Information Literacy Tutorial) and Delaware Tech authored Blackboard Library Modules which students must complete as part of their English courses. TILT provides general skills and our Blackboard Library Modules instruct on the use of college specific resources such as our online library catalog and the periodical index/database, EBSCOhost.  Students should check with their instructor as to which modules are required for their course. The libraries also provide many print and online aids to research. In addition, tours and demonstrations are available. Please contact us in person, by phone (Stanton: 302-453-3717) or online to make arrangements.
