Closed Saturdays during summer. Always closed Sunday. Hours vary during semester breaks and summer sessions. We are ready for incoming Fall semester students! Let's fill those chairs! Back to: Top The Library is a great place to hang out. Library privileges are available to all persons who are currently enrolled in or employed by Delaware Tech. Upon presentation of a current Delaware Tech ID card, students, staff and faculty will receive a library barcode allowing them to use the collection, services, and facilities of all four campus libraries. Students, staff, and faculty may have borrowing privileges at other Delaware academic institutions through their Delaware Tech ID card. Students from area colleges may have borrowing privileges at Delaware Tech libraries. Persons 18 or older, who live or work in Delaware, may register with the library as community resident borrowers. Appropriate identification is required and there are some limitations on borrowing. Please check with library staff for details. Back to: Top Some books you may want to renew - ask the Librarian how.
Back to: Top Books: $0.15 per day, per item. Reserve materials: $2.00 per day, per item. It is the borrower's responsibility to be aware of due dates. Failure to receive a library overdue notice does not excuse the borrower from returning books on time or paying fines. Lost and damaged materials must be paid for at the publisher's current retail price, plus a $10.00 processing fee, per item, for cataloged items. It is College policy that course registration, requests for transcripts, and receipt of a diploma will be suspended until all library obligations have been met. When a patron borrows items from another campus library, he or she is bound by the policies of the lending library, including payment for lost, damaged, or overdue materials. This is Karen who will be making sure those books are back on time. Back to: Top
This is how we want the computer station area to look all the time.... BUSY. Library computers provide access to resources which support the academic and educational programs of each campus. These include: Delaware Library Catalog, online databases/periodical indexes, MyDTCC. Blackboard and e-mail programs can be accessed through MyDTCC. Internet, word processing, and spreadsheet programs are also available on all library computers. All library computer resources are accessible to students, faculty, and staff using their college username/password. Community patrons may ask a librarian to log them in using a guest account. Photocopies and computer printouts are available from coin-operated printers and cost 10 cents per page. Back to: Top
The Delaware Library Catalog contains the collections of all four Delaware Tech campus libraries and many other public and academic libraries throughout Delaware. Catalog records for books, periodical titles, audiovisual materials, etc. may be searched by keyword, title, author, subject and more. Delaware Tech libraries use Library of Congress subject headings and call numbers. Eddie Brown, the DTCC Stanton Wellness Center Manager, sneaks out to grab some library books to read while you're sweating it out in the Center. Back to: Top
The Periodical collection and quiet conversation area - waiting for you!
This is how it looks once the semester gets rolling. Library patrons have access to a variety of indexes, both print and online, which support the academic programs offered by the campus. The purpose of indexes/databases is to list, by subject, articles in journals, magazines, or newspapers. In some databases, the full text of the articles are available online and may be printed at 10 cents per page. In other databases/indexes only a citation or abstract is provided. Certain magazines and journals may also be available in print format in the library's periodical collection. Check for these titles in the Periodical Holdings List
(available at the Circulation Desk) or in the Delaware
Library Catalog.
While these periodicals may not leave the library, articles may be
photocopied for 10 cents per page.
Interlibrary loan service is available for magazines and journals not owned by the Stanton Campus Library. Such requests may be made in person or online. Back to: Top
Patrons can place an online request for any regularly circulating item in the Delaware Library Catalog. To do so, one must have a library barcode number and PIN, obtained from the library. This is separate from the college MyDTCC username and password. Please contact the Stanton Campus Library for more information. A delivery service for library materials is provided among the Delaware Tech campus libraries. Books and other items from another campus library may be requested, picked up, and returned at the patron's home campus library. The library also
provides interlibrary loan of items not listed in the Delaware Library
Catalog. These requests may be placed in person or online. Lending policies
are dictated by the lending library and the materials are dated
accordingly, with overdue stipulations noted. Please note that it may take several days to obtain requested items. Enrolling in DTCC is a great way to get prepared. The Library has lots of information to help you cut your way through the jungle. Back to: Top The Delaware Tech libraries use an online information
literacy
program consisting of TIP and
Blackboard Library Modules which students must complete as part of
their English courses. TIP provides general skills and Blackboard
Library Modules instruct on the use of college specific resources, such
as our online library catalog and the periodical
index/database, EBSCOhost. Students will be informed by their
English instructors as to which modules are required for their course. The
libraries also provide many print and online aids to assist with research papers. In
addition, tours and demonstrations are available. Please contact a librarian in
person, by phone (Stanton Campus Library: 302-453-3717), or online to
make arrangements.

He's got his 2011-1 green ID sticker and his cellphone, which is powered off in the Library and classrooms - RIGHT???? Back to: Top Students who are enrolled in distance learning programs have full library privileges. Students should obtain a Delaware Tech student identification card that has been validated for the current semester and bring it to the library for completion of the library registration process. If that is not possible, please use the online form or contact library staff by phone (Stanton Campus Library: 302- 453-3716).
