The DT&CC Library is pleased to be able to serve the Sussex County community at no charge.  In addition to Delaware Tech student I.D. cards, the Library honors cards of partner institutions (DSU, UD, WC) and membership cards of area public libraries.

Materials may be borrowed for three weeks and renewed, if needed. Magazines, reference, and Delmarva materials may be used within the library.  Photocopies are available from coin-operated machines.  Printouts are available from Internet and Databases.  Microfiche and microfilm copies are also available. Study rooms may be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Book Return

• Return books to the library or use one of the convenient book drops located throughout the campus.
• Audio-visual materials should be returned directly to library staff to avoid damage.

• The four DT&CC Campus libraries have a combined online public access catalog.  If the Betze Library does not have a book or magazine article you need, we can try to borrow it from another Delaware Tech library through intralibrary loan.

Because it may take several days to receive material through intralibrary loan, you are encouraged to make requests well in advance.

          Library instruction may include:
                  Introduction to research strategies
                  Instruction in the use of library databases and reference tools
                  Library tours
                  Internet resource by discipline

    TILT (Texas Information Literacy Tutorial)

• The Stephen J. Betze Library, in its efforts to better serve the diverse population of Sussex County, has established a county-wide telephone reference service. A professional reference librarian will confirm the availability of books, electronic data, and other materials at the Owens Campus library, as well as answer reference questions.

The DT&CC Libraries' collection can be accessed through twenty online computers.

• To access the Delaware Tech library collection, select Delaware Library Catalog on the computer screen.
• To access other library collections, go to DelAWARE: Libraries.

Second Floor

The Main Book Collection (J to Z), Fiction, and Paperback Collection are on the second floor. Special collections include Quarto, Delmarva and pamphlets.

• Quarto refers to oversized books.
• Delmarva refers to historical Delaware resource material housed in a special Delmarva room.
