The libraries will be an integral part of the College's instructional programs. The librarians will provide a comprehensive instructional program that emphasizes investigative and information management skills. The program will be based on a continuum of learning and research skills which will also support students' ongoing needs for life-long learning in their professional and personal lives.

The librarians, in conjunction with faculty, will acquire a collection of traditional and computerized resources to support the ever-changing curriculum and constituencies and to respond to the educational needs, abilities, and interests of a diverse student body. In accordance with nationally accepted library standards, the librarians will organize these materials to ensure their accessibility.

A qualified staff, appropriate and accessible services, and a physical environment conducive to student research and study will encourage the use of the library and its resources.

Through participation in college-wide collaborative efforts and in local, state, regional, and national library networks, the librarians will make available appropriate additional information resources.
